Our Process

1. The Denim Process
Ever wonder how our jeans are made? Before arriving at your doorstep your jeans will pass through 18 pairs of skilled hands. INDi seamlessly combines patented technology and hand-crafted artistry to produce each pair of jeans one at a time. Each jean is truly created just for you.

2. Technology, Pattern Generation & Cutting
When you click 'Confirm Order' at www.indicustom.com your style choices and fit profile are digitally transmitted to INDi's data center. In our data center your fit profile is sent through our neural network where we use our extensive data bank of thousands of body scans to calculate your key body proportions. From there, INDi systems plug your clothing style choices and calculated body proportions into what we call our sizing algorithm (think geometry, statistics, and software engineering), and voila, your custom, one-of-a-kind pattern is born. Your unique jean pattern is then digitally sent to our manufacturing facility for cutting, sewing, washing, and shipping. This all takes less than 5 minutes. Really. In our sewing facility, our automated laser-guided cutting machine cuts all pattern pieces from the fabric you selected. At this point, each pair of jeans is labeled with a scanable bar code and serial number that allows us to track its process through production. This barcode and serial number are unique to you and the jeans you created.

3. Embroidery & Sewing
If you've selected a back pocket embroidery design, your jeans will proceed next to the embroidery station. The back pockets are set on the embroidery machine that is programmed with your design. All of our jeans are embroidered using top quality thread in colors that are hand-selected by our design team to compliment our washes.

After the pockets are embroidered, they are sent to the sewing process where your jean is assembled. During the sewing process, your jeans will pass through 3 sets of hands.

4. Dry Finishing, Washing and Hardware
Prior to washing, special treatments such as sanding and whiskering treatments are applied by hand to give jeans a genuine worn-in look. Jeans are then washed in batches according to the selected finished look of the jean. Jeans that are lighter will stay in the washing machine for longer periods of time than darker jeans. After wash, the INDi logo rivets and buttons are attached to the jean. Our design team developed solid brass with antique silver finish hardware to give your jeans a gently worn look.

Raw jeans will skip the wash process altogether. We'll leave it to you to break in your raw jeans and give them authentic wear patterns. All raw jeans are cut to size and need to be hand-washed and hung to dry at home to avoid shrinkage.

After wash, the INDi logo rivets and buttons are attached to the jean. Our design team developed solid brass with antique silver finish hardware to your jeans a gently worn look.

5. Quality Inspection & Shipping
Quality control is one of our highest priorities. Your garment is inspected after every step in our process. Before leaving the factory, each pair of jeans goes through a comprehensive inspection to make sure it measures correctly and that the sewing and wash lives up to INDi's quality standards.

After the extensive quality control check, your custom jeans are packaged and labeled. They ship directly from the factory to your door.
